Uncompressed HD-SDI Video Over Fiber

Optiva® SMPTE 292M and 424M compliant transmission links are the perfect solution for transmitting the full range of SMPTE HD resolutions over long or short distances with a single wavelength. This single fiber, single wavelength solution is perfect for any professional broadcast application, whether in a fixed Production facility or mobile O/B facility. HD-SDI currently enjoys widespread acceptance. The requirement to preserve full 1080p throughout the entire production and post-production process is driving the future migration to 3G-HD. The desire to produce high definition content at 12-bit color depths and to provide support for R’G’B’ and 4:4:4:4 processing, is also driving these higher bandwidth requirements.

Another unique capability of this system is that it utilizes Optiva's patent-pending Daisy Chain™ Technology. This gives system designers the flexibility to add additional Optiva insert cards, for the purpose of transporting additional video, audio, and/or data signals over the same fiber.

System Design

Switching and multicasting the various configurations of OTP-1HDP and OTP-1HD (as well as all other Optiva signal cards) over the OptiLinx® Switching Platform is straightforward, making this the perfect solution for reconfigurable systems with many sources of high definition broadcast video, and many downstream destinations in the broadcast workflow process.

Optiva® insert cards are supported by both 19ā€¯ rack mount and compact tabletop or wall mountable enclosures. The 3RU 19ā€¯ rack mount enclosure (Model: OT-CC-16-100) can support up to 16 insert cards plus dual-redundant hot-swappable power supplies (Model: OT-CC-16-100-RPS). Also available in the 19ā€¯ rackmount form factor is the 4-slot (Model: OT-CC-4-1U) which houses 4 insert cards in 1RU of rack space. The compact one slot (Model: OT-DTCR-1) and two slot (Model: OT-DTCR-2) enclosures are useful for remotely deployed signals. The desktop enclosures require an external power supply (Model: PS-9012).

Optiva^TM Upgrade Path

This system can be purchased without an optical port as an add-on to an existing Optiva ^TM system daisy-chain. (See "Non-Optical Version").
