K.K. Wong Lithium Niobate Expert
K.K. Wong received the BSEE and PhD (EE) degrees at the University of Glasgow, Scotland. He has been working in the area of guided-wave optics since 1979 specializing in optical devices in lithium niobate (LN). In addition he has performed research and development work in optical devices using undoped and doped glasses, III-V material systems and silicon on insulator material.

Photonic devices that KK has worked on includes FOG modulators, high speed Mach-Zehnder devices, optical switch matrices, Er-doped Q-switched lasers in LN, PPLNs, narrow linewidth glass lasers, high speed analog transmitter modules and FOG transceivers. He has held various research, engineering, production and management positions in GEC Research (Marconi Research Center), AlliedSignal Corporate Labs., Litton Guidance & Control Systems, IMRA America, Codeon Corp., Northstar Photonics, ModeTek Inc., APIC, and Phasebridge now part of Emcore Broadband.

In Emcore Broadband, KK is the Manager of the Specialty Products Development Team working on FOG transceivers, FOG LN modulators, high speed analog LN transmitter modules and PPLNs. KK has published over 45 scientific articles and holds 5 patents. He is a Fellow of the IEE (UK) and the Institute of Physics (UK).
